Welcome to the Cecchetti Society Trust Newsletter

As the end of the academic year 2022/23 draws to a close, Trustees can reflect on the special events that the Trust has been able to organise and support during the year. The Cecchetti Society Centenary Gala at the Royal Opera House was a highlight in autumn 2022, with the Trust’s Vocational Classical Ballet Awards following in spring 2023, and From Studio to Stage in the summer. We appreciate the support that many of you have given to enable these new Trust initiatives to take place.

We are looking forward to planning events from autumn 2023 onwards and the first of these will be the Cecchetti Society Trust Vocational Awards on 3rd December - details below.

Meanwhile we hope all our supporters are enjoying a relaxing break over the summer and look forward to seeing many of you again soon.

Trust Support for Teachers & Students

In the academic year 2022-23 the Cecchetti Society Trust has continued to support a range of bursaries, awards and scholarships for teachers and students. These include Study Support Bursaries for Teachers, Summer Study Bursaries for Students, the Cecchetti Society Trust Vocational Classical Ballet Awards, the Cyril Beaumont Scholarship and the Tanya Bayona Award. To date there have been 28 recipients and the Trust wishes them all well in their ongoing study of the Cecchetti work.

Mabel Ryan & Malta Awards 2023

This autumn the ISTD Cecchetti Society Classical Ballet Faculty will be holding the annual Mabel Ryan Awards on 19th November 2023 at Elmhurst Ballet School, Birmingham and the Cecchetti Malta Awards at The Dance Workshop, Malta on 3rd December 2023. The Trust is very pleased to be able to continue to support these annual events offering special opportunities for young dancers. Cecchetti Diploma DVDs and Music Cds

Cecchetti Diploma DVDs and Music CDs are available from the Cecchetti Society Trust. Produced by the Trust, these resources are vital for those studying for the Fellowship or Cecchetti Diploma examinations, or those wishing to enhance their knowledge of the Cecchetti work.

DVDs are priced £75.00 and CDs are priced £15.00. Postage and packing is priced according to delivery address/country. If you would like to purchase either of these resources, please contact Elisabeth Swan chair@cecchettisocietytrust.org giving details of your order and your delivery address.

Cecchetti International Classical Ballet (CICB) Competition 2024

The Cecchetti International Classical Ballet (CICB) Competition 2024 will be hosted by the Cecchetti Council of America (CCA) in beautiful Holland, Michigan, USA. The Cecchetti Society Trust will once again be supporting Scholarships for talented students selected to represent the ISTD at the competition.
